– Be fluent in conversational Spanish
2010 Goals:
– Take one real estate class
– Start conversation about communication class w/ wife
– Send three of our employees to some sort of sales training (me included)
– Continue to incorporate leaderhship books & biographies into my reading
– Buy Spanish version of Rosetta Stone

LIFE FACETS: Business
Editor's Note: This is a goal breakdown for one of my eight life facets – includes where I am now, a being statement, 5-year goals and goals for 2010. Some of the goals are tangible and some our intangible.
BUSINESS
Where Am I Now: I am president/CEO of start-up company, e-Partners in Giving; we have been operational for 13 months
• Limited cash flow; morale low, and questioning business model
• Forced to take another job – since company has not generated necessary traction/momentum
Being Statement: I will utilize my leadership abilities to develop a unique business model/assemble a like-minded team that inspires entrepreneurs (Entrepreneur Incubator)– create, sell, repeat
• Involved in the daily operations – not just financially invested
• Each project will fund the next

– Put together my "Dream Team" – 6 to 7 like-minded and motivated individuals
– Use funds generated by sale of e-Partners to start first company of Entrepreneur Incubator

– Give each of our investors the opportunity to sell back their share(s) in the company
– Hire a PR intern
– Pay down all debt
– Receive minimal pay check

Where Am I Now: Constantly put an emphasis on giving back & helping those less fortunate; My conviction statement: Everyone deserves a fighting chance to be successful.
Being Statement: I will make giving back sexy and cool – be a motivation to others to give back

– Made Fort Worth the most giving city in the United States, while personally accumulating more than 2,000 hours of community service.
– Brought a chapter of Back on My Feet to DFW
– Maintained & cultivated my relationship with my Little Brother (BBBS)
– Gone on one mission trip

– Start prison mentoring

– Do five presentations that revolve around my conviction statement
– Research possible metrics/platform to make FW most giving city in America
– Serve on two Boards of local 501(c)(3) organizations

FAMILY
Where Am I Now: First child on the way – solid foundation of love & respect between me & my wife; Immediate family lives within hours drive – try to sse them every couple of weeks.

Being Statement: I will be the husband my wife deserves & the role model my children need

– I want my immediate family to be in place, with at least three children (our own or through adoption)
– Have taken classes with my wife to improve our communication & build on the foundation we've already established

– Go on one vacation w/ my wife (no kids)
